wlfpckrs
I've made flights of 125 miles for doughnuts, 175 miles for breakfast, 190 miles for ice cream, and 410 miles for a weekend flight to my hometown for several of my favorite places (root beer/hotdogs, ice cream, and "Barberton chicken" [see Wikipedia]). CT4ME
Out here in Phoenix, the heat generally keeps us on a shorter leash. Two hours out means two hours back, plus the time for eating/walking. All that adds up to a hot, bumpy, trip back. Tim
S3flyer
T31 (McKinney, TX) to KLNC (Lancaster) - 40nm for the Runway Cafe. Classic airport diner; good for lunch or breakfast. KLNC is also the home to the Cold War Air Museum (cwam.org) T31 to KEYQ (Houston) - 200nm for Carl's BBQ. Original Texas BBQ in a double-wide trailer adjacent to the airport. Learned to fly here 20+ years ago so this is a nostalga trip for me. T31 to KRVS (Tulsa) - 175nm for Goldie's oldfashioned hamburgers. Need to borrow the Smart crew car for the 5 mile drive to the original location. Many years ago this was Goldie's 19th hole for a golf course. The golf course is long gone but the burgers live on. Grew up in Tulsa so this is going home for me. I also find these are more like $34 - $50 hamburger runs :-)
Mick
220 nm. Fort Pierce (KFPR) to Key West (KEYW). Not the longest, but one of the best. Great FBO, great views, great bus service to all kinds of eats.
