Duane Jefts
DocRon, You made the solution to this problem so simple, even I can follow it. Kudu's to you.
Roger Lee
Hi Ron, Thanks for the perfect demo. The mushrooms are rarely perfect. Even when someone adjust the mushroom or instrument then someone may get in or out and put a little too much pressure on the mushroom and it can put it out again, but I would guess it should stay faily well. Some have drilled the instrument holes or panel opening out some and turned the instrument.

Some have drilled the instrument holes or panel opening out some and turned the instrument. Two and one-half degrees doesn't seem like much but it makes a significant difference in the way the plane flies. I'm going to start filling both tanks to the top and see if I lose fuel like I used to. Question is: why didn't FD's quality control find this when the plane obviously wasn't flying quite right. And, it appears as if I'm not the only one with this issue. In retrospect, I wish I had the whole panel raised on one side rather than having the EFIS holes redrilled and a trim piece put around the CRT. It looks fine with the trim around it but it just doesn't look right in the panel with that slight tilt. Still, not much to complain about. Runtoeat
DocRon, good thought on the leveling of the wings. This is what I did too and why I posted about the mushroom earlier in this thread. My problem though, and one that Roger mentioned, is that my mushroom is not held to the firewall very well and it can be "tweaked" if someone manhandles it during avionics servicing, etc. I'm considering finding a simple inclinomometer and mount this on the tunnel in the vicinity of my ignition key, at the left or right pillar or perhaps up near my compass on the cross bar. Some place that stays unchanged in it's relationship with my wings. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/beliteinclinometerbezel.php

Post a picture of this when you do it, will you? Thanks!
round_peg
FWIW, you can buy or download for free any number of clinometer apps for iPad and iPhone. I use this freebee: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/clinometer-hd-bubble-level/id364877623 Very accurate and could be useful for adjusting the panel and/or turn coordinator. Roger Lee
Hi Mitch, That's the one I used to set a prop pitch out on the Page airport ramp last year for one of out attendees. Couple of tools and the IPAD and it's a done deal.
Runtoeat
These apps are amazing. I keep sizing up my right panel to see if I could move the steam gages around to clear a spot for an IPad.

I keep sizing up my right panel to see if I could move the steam gages around to clear a spot for an IPad. I've actually done that, found a spot large enough for a SeaSucker mount package for the iPad on the right side. Probably should post photos of this installation. Way better than sticking it on the window.

Mitch, when time allows, please give us a picture. Will do. We have the analog panel so the EMS wasn't in the way.
