Roger Lee
FYI, We are getting great support from many Rotax mechanics and Rotax distributors to make the red Rotax Teflon fuel distribution hose on the carbs to be an "on condition" hose change. If you are a mechanic please send an email to your distributor and pass it through channels to ask that this be done. Mass support will be the only way this gets done. The hose is $338 so you may want to help. I have heard through the grapevine that Rotax is going to make other fuel hoses out of this Parker Stratoflex 101-4 Teflon hose. If they do replace them it would be very expensive so getting this done now will help everyone. Email today.
LS Bruce
It's Parker Stratoflex 101-4, assembly made by these guys for Rotax. Read the cert tag on the hose. Really high quality hose. http://www.wmtonline.eu/hoses_101.php Interesting webpage about age limits. Note where they write about PTFE (Teflon) hose, they use terms like "Non-aging", "Service life unlimited" and "On condition" http://www.wmtonline.eu/hoses_agelimits.php
Runtoeat
Has there been any developments regarding requirement for 5 year replacement of the Parker Stratoflex fuel hose since the last post made in October?
Roger Lee
Hi Dick, Rotax stance is still the same to change it. It is a high quality hose and a shame to change it at 5 years. It's a tough call, but wouldn't bother me personably if someone didn't change it. Rubber hose isn't the same quality of this particular hose.
