Duane Jefts Posted June 18, 2013 Report Share Posted June 18, 2013 I saw this on the news. Absolutely amazing footage. I had a problem with the part he cut off some of the blades and still flew it. Without yaw control it had a lot of spin going on. If you were piloting this craft I think a pilot would be too dizzy to land. Still I find this technology mind boggeling. Doug G. Posted June 19, 2013 Report Share Posted June 19, 2013 Quad copters have been in the R/C world for at least ten years. They have gotten more sophisticated with the controlling software however. Battery life is still the big issue as far as a practical use, and for a "full scale" (as they are referred to in R/C) an additional issue is the four motors and the servos it would take to direct their thrust...maybe someday - Isn't someone (european I think) working on a four rotor flying "car"?
