FastEddieB
For a neutral density filter, there are lots of options. Probably Edmund Scientific or someone sells the filter medium in sheets and varying density. Just cut a piece and figure a clever way to hold in in front of the GoPro lens. As far as the vignetting, you could always just crop it out.
paul m
Even though this video applies to an earlier model, maybe it gives you some ideas Andy. http://vimeo.com/22302989 Ironically, 3 months ago you'll see in the comments from the creator: "sportys.com/Pilotshop/product/17986 sportys.com/Pilotshop/product/17969 No need to do this with the HERO 3 - here are two solutions from SPORTYS PILOT SHOP (above) If you have the HERO 3 these do the trick and a lot less trouble to create the filter holder!" He's referring to...you guessed it...the nflightcam solution. By the way I have no affiliation with, nor am I even endorsing them (have had a few customer service issues with nflight). Just posting information for everyone's reference. YMMV.
