Roger Lee
For all you that have never seen a BRS in action. This is a dated video, but may make some of you feel a little better about the chute. Video: BRS Save, RANS S-6 This has been around, but... http://youtube.com/watch?v=I84d0TD0E0E The basic sequence of events: Guy is flying his S-6 along in loose formation with his buddy - left center in the distance - supposedly in the pattern at about 1000'. Glider tug with a tow rope trailing him - he's already released the glider - cuts across him and the tow rope tangles in the prop. I think you can hear the engine change pitch as the clutch prevents the prop from turning. At about 12 sec, you hear a WHOOSH sound - this is him activating the BRS.
