NC Bill
I'd like to keep a spare oil filter in the plane. In searching the ROTAX site it looks like 825-701 Oil Filter - Rotax 912. Original factory replacement filter is the one to order. Yet on 2 different supplier websites they are selling the 825-706as the factory authorized replacement. If there is a difference what would it be? And is either acceptable? Are there any additional parts like gaskets that are needed but don't come with the filter? Roger Lee
Hi Bill, You can buy Rotax oil filters from CPS, Leading Edge or Lockwood. There really isn't any need to carry a spare filter.
Patrnflyr
I've got six of the Rotax filters NIB ready to sell if anybody is interested. I also have 12 qts of Aeroshell Sport Plus semi synthetic oil if anybody's interested. Make me a reasonable offer and I'll ship them out to you. Just let me know John

Patrnflyr
Guys, I thought you were best friends! If you're interested, PM me tomorrow and I'll go out to the hangar and inventory the exact filter count and oil qt count. Heck, I'll even throw in some decalin for the trouble. Having a blast with my new plane. Just came back from Colorado Springs this weekend and had a TAS of 165kts at 11500. Add that to a 45kt tailwind, and we were COOKING! I do miss the fuel sipping of the LS, though. Somebody in Iowa bought mine. I wonder if they knew how Type A I was with maintenance? Hope they join up here. Roger, the second I bought the Cessna, I had the three owner's groups contact me asking me to join. Wonder if this forum could do that through the FAA registry? Let me know? John I told them to join the forum... I used to fly a Turbo 182 and hated the $400 fill up
Patrnflyr
I don't know anybody who'd like a $400 fill up but I'm loving the plane and can justify the fuel costs right now. I usually have 3 people in the plane, 40kts faster, taking off from 6-8K density altitudes and am not worried about our winds any more. Monday, I landed in a 27 kt crosswind without even a bounce!!! I'll count up the stuff this evening and post it in the for sale section. John
