Big Flapper
I have a 2008 CTLS with a tru track autopilot, when I pop the breaker I have a little drag on the stick but when I engage the breaker I have significant stick pressure even when the autopilot says it is off. Is this normal? I used to have another plane with a Dynon autopilot and it had no stick resistance until I engaged the autopilot.
GrassStripFlyBoy
What is the serial # of your airplane? There is a window of early built LS that have a heavier control force compared to later CTLS models, that would be main reason for heavier forces. I installed TruTrak AP recently, the system does add a minimal amount of force to the controls, but not enough to where I notice it in flight, it's rather slight. Big Flapper
My SN is a later model, This restriction is only noticeable when power is going to the AP. I mostly fly with the AP breaker pulled out.
GrassStripFlyBoy
That does not sound normal, probably best to call Mid Continent for discussion / remove the head and send for service check?
Runtoeat
I'm thinking your wiring might be incorrect? I believe that the resistance of the TruTrak AP can be set from very light to very pronounced resistance. You might be set for a very light resistance and possibly the AP button on the control stick is stuck "closed"? The stuck AP button on the stick might be operating the AP all the time and when the breaker is "on" or "off", this is controlling power into the AP?
