This is why you should be checking those fuel filters regularly. The logbooks say it was checked at the last annual, but who knows if it really was or not.

Many CT's probably haven't had the tanks inspected since manufactured. Easy to do during wing pull. A lot of owners pour fuel from 6 gal unfiltered containers.

The wings REALLY should have come with sumps.

Grab the hoses up in the wings and in the instrument console. They should be soft and pliable. If they are not, your hoses need replaced, they're breaking down.

Had an engine failure on an aircraft I worked on. The 5 year change wasn't documented but clearly done, but they missed the wing fuel lines. I found out about it a year later frim another mechanic.
