Ken Posted July 21, 2021 Report Posted July 21, 2021 Hi Folks: My fuel pressure sender is zip-tied to the engine mount. Does anyone know of a better location for mounting? Ken Quote
FastEddieB Posted July 21, 2021 Report Posted July 21, 2021 Is that seriously all that’s securing it? Quote
Tom Baker Posted July 21, 2021 Report Posted July 21, 2021 Normally there is a large Adel style clamp that holds it to the firewall. The problem with that mounting method is that it makes it difficult to wrap with firesleeve. Quote
Anticept Posted July 21, 2021 Report Posted July 21, 2021 Hold the firesleeve like a pop can, and cut it vertically like you are going to split it open, but stop halfway up, so that it's only halfway cut open. Slide the firesleeve over the unmounted sender and up onto the hose, mount the sender, slide the firesleeve back down. It will look sort of like a skirt on it. Ziptie the bottom together to finish. This method keeps the firesleeve on even if the zip tie were to melt off. Quote
Tom Baker Posted July 21, 2021 Report Posted July 21, 2021 From your other post I gather that the fuel pressure was added after the airplane was originally put in service. I suspect whoever did the install just tied it to the mount frame. He sent me pictures, and in all honesty the way it is tied up should not cause any issued, but the clamp would be better. Quote
