airhound
What works to keep cold air out? Was thinking gorilla tape or wadded up foam. Is Al making his plexi hole covers?
Garrett Gee
I use a piece of 2 inch wide packing tape. Sticks well, you can still see inside the holes, and doesn't have a tendency to remove paint when you remove it.
Roger Lee
3” clear packing tape. You still get to see through it. It comes off without damage. I cover all my holes above my head with it including the fuel sight tube hole. Then use some foam around the front and back wing spare pin holes. Seals all cold air from coming in. Then I have added some soft foam window seal foam around the outside of my door seal. No more cold air and the cabin stays nice and warm during winter. FastEddieB
May or may not apply, but on my Sky Arrow when I renewed the wing root Bolus tape I cut some rectangles out of clear plastic bubble pack and placed them where I can view the wing attachment hardware. They also allow light in to view the hardware from below during my walkaround inspection.

DJ Todd B
Here's what I made. VERY Simple and effective. Water pipe insulation "slice" glued to a piece of round cardboard. The insulation diameter is just a bit oversized that it fits tightly into the opening and has stayed for about 2 years already. Pops out easily too. airhound
Great idea! Say, what keeps the noggin protector piece from falling off the spare carry threw?
