Animosity2k
Had a great time flying with some buddies earlier in the year. This was my first time "formation" flying with other people! I will tell you it was a bit nerve wrecking for me at first! If you check out the 2:40 second mark you can see the commanche passing underneath me.
Bill3558
Awesome! But how do you get those shots showing your whole airplane? That’s making my head hurt.
CTSW Bob
Yes, inquiring minds want to know! Great video!!!
Animosity2k
If you check out my other videos I posted you can see the setup in the NYC video when I land at JFK. It's a 15ft telescoping microphone boom that you'd typically use for cinematography. It sticks out about 3 feet past the prop and has a 360 camera mounted to it. Bill3558
Thanks for the explanation. It’s getting hard for this old man to keep up with what’s out there. Amazing video.

Ken Kueny
Wow! Great videos. I've been wanting to do this with my Insta360 X3, but I am terrified that the boom will break off and damage the aircraft. If I understand the video image correctly, you've secured the boom to the wing tiedown and 2 suction cups. Is that correct? Any tape? Also, it looks like a power cable is snaked out to the camera. Is there a battery attached somewhere?

Is there a battery attached somewhere? Wow, bringing back an old thread! Firstly your correct. I have the two suction cups and the tiedown. The suction cups are probably more than enough. I've done 185mph runs in my Audi R8 and have no issues with a single suction taking my camera off the car let alone two! Also your correct on the battery! I cut a hole in the wing inspection plate and have some double sided velcro up inside there that a battery pack is stuck too. I then pass the cable through the inspection plate hole out to the camera. I've been able to run the camera for 3-4 hours nonstop!
