Big Flapper
Yesterday one of my Dynon EGT readings indicated -91 deg before startup. After startup it matched the other EGT reading while the engine was running. Is this a sensor going bad or just a connection problem. If it's a failure indication would I be better off replacing it with a Dynon EGT probe or one from Aircraft SpruceĀ or Lockwood? Thanks for any input
Tom Baker
I buy Dynon probes from Aircraft Spruce. I'm not sure if they have the screw in type or not, as I normally buy the clamp type.

Roger Lee
I would just keep an eye on it for a few flights. If it went out it isn't an in flight emergency. many Rotax engines don't even have EGT's.
Big Flapper
Thanks Roger I'll just monitor it and see what happens. I agree that I would rather loose the EGT'S before I lost CHT'S
Anticept
The egt is going bad, classic sign.
