I would sure like to have a landing light.  My cowl is not cut out for one.  Apparently a prospective buyer in Europe did not want a landing light installed and then backed out of the sale and the plane was subsequently shipped to the USA.  (Hey, those Americans will buy anything.). At least that is how it was explained to me.  The aircraft does have a fuse labeled for the landing light.  It also has a landing light rocker switch installed.  Just no landing light.  My A&P suggested mounting them on the landing gear struts. That would make sense.  Would try to get an MRA for it or just do it.  I don’t want to fly at night.  I just want to be seen in the daytime better.  Any constructive thoughts?  Thanks.

I have also seen a CT with a drop in cup on the cowling with a little composite ring added to hold it in place on the backside. I don't know much about it, I didn't work on it.

Italian first owner of my CT made new wheel covers with landing light on them but at the time it was halogen lights with a quite heavy glass lens but I like the look they gave to the CT.

Has anyone tried this newer 72170 rectangle light? Is it really brighter than the original one that came with my 2009 CTLS?

It is the same light that Cirrus uses, (times 2).

Narrow beam angles gives runway vision further out for the same power. Too narrow though and it doesn't light the runway well during the last seconds before touchdown.

Wide are for taxi.

10 degree is old school PAR halogen angles, they needed them.

20 degree is probably a good balance for our low speed and will keep the runway lit. LEDs are really bright so old school narrower angles aren't as needed.

30 is very wide and best for taxi or aircraft with multiple lights.

That 150 degree is basically just "light the area on the ground around me" would be more for people's benefit walking around the aircraft than for anyone inside.
