DJ Todd B
Has anyone with the ECHOuat had ATC tell them to recycle their transponder because they are not receiving the Mode C readout? Has anyone done the "mod"? If so, could you share your solution or contact me about it. 480-710-8320
Eddie Cesnalis
I just received my altitude encoder in the mail. Looks very easy to install.
Mike Koerner
I hadn't heard anything about this & didn't get a notice from uAvionix. Thanks for the heads up.

I missed it till I asked why my altitude when it ghosted was off by 1,000'. Looked into it and the original scheme was to use Mode C altitude and if Mode C isn't available it uses a previous value. The add on encoder is very light and small, comes with a wiring harnass and uses ambient pressure.
CTSW Bob
I was too getting that request from the controllers for a while. Then someone here posted about the Echo free upgrade. It took a few months to come in, but it was simple to install and then upgrade the software. I haven't been asked since by a controller and I checked with the app on my phone and it was reporting pressure altitude.
