Av1ate Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 For those who would like to reference it, I've attached the Installation Manual for the Garmin GPS 175. It was a little difficult to find online so I'm archiving it here. The Garmin GPS 175 is the least expensive IFR certified GPS I can find and seems to be the navigator of choice for light sports going IFR As an aside, I have the TruTrak Digiflight IIVS which can accept vertical GPS steering. I've been digging into the docs for the GPS 175 to confirm they speak the same language (looks like it, ARINC-429) and the GPS 175 does provide vertical steering guidance. With this one GPS upgrade I should be able to have the autopilot fly IFR GPS approaches down to as low as 200 feet as detailed in the TruTrak installation manual. S4Flier Posted January 5 Report Posted January 5 I installed one in my Sting S4 and it works seamlessly on approaches (and en route) with the GFC-500 A/P. The screen is small but usable since the vast majority of input is via my G3X. Quote
