coppercity
Recently I have noticed a little extra up/down play in the flaps of my LS. I hadn't been able to find the source until I opened everything up for the 100hr. Turned out to be a loose jam nut on the aft rod end of the upper flap actuator pushrod. Nothing had changed adjustment but without the jam nut seated against the pushrod there was added play. Tightened it up and all is good again. Something to checkout if you start getting some extra play.
Tom Baker
Make sure the rod has full rotation on the ball joints after you tighten the jam nut. Sometimes you can get them twisted so the rod does not rotate, and when you operate the flaps it puts a load on hte fittings and ball joints. This could be what caused it to loosen in the first place. Tom
