Roger Lee
Here is a new BRS Service Bulletin from FD. It will not affect 95% or more of the SW's. It only affects serial numbered SW's 06-01-07 to 06-11-13. Just check and make sure you have the strap that goes from the gear leg bracket up to the chute carabiner. Some SW's have a 3 strap system and some a 4 strap system. If you have the 3 strap system then you have one Kevlar chute strap on attached to the cross over bar on the gear legs in the baggage compartment. Some of the SW's have 2 straps in the rear baggage compartment. one on each side of the gear leg bracket. This bulletin is mainly aimed at the guys with the 3 strap setup. Just make sure your strap is there. Read section 3.1 of the bulletin. Runtoeat
The SB document is poorly done. It is dissapointing that there aren't any strap routing diagrams or at the least a picture that is in focus. Personally, I'm left with poking my head in the baggage compartment and looking at the system to try to figure out if I'm compliant or not with my strap routing but don't have any idea of how they are supposed to be routed. Roger Lee
Hi Dick, I wouldn't worry about the routing so much. Just see if the strap is there. A couple of planes were missing straps. They will replace these under a warranty claim.

ozairangel
As this bulletin wasnt issued in Australia, I have to rely on this site to keep up to date. Found that There are no rear straps fitted to my SW {06] . My question, If anyone can help, is, how many straps should there be at the rear? One or Two..........David
Safety Officer
Hi David, Many 06 CTSW's had three. The two that go up front to the engine mounts and one on the rear gear leg cross over tube. I have seen a few with 4 (two in the rear). One on each side of the gear leg cross over tube. The majority only have three. Take a look at the parts manual attachment here. It shows both ways. Chute parts.pdf

I didnt have these pages in my manuals hence my question. I still wonder, [seeing that I had no straps] , what the design requirement should be, one or two at the rear? Once again I am greatful for your help. David
