Philip Welsch Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 Anyone with Chartis Insurance look your policy over carefully. My recent renewal did not include an endorsement for an aircraft with a Special Airworthiness Certificate and it did not describe my LS as an SLSA. Additionally one of the specific exclusions in the policy was for any aircraft without a valid Standard Airworthiness Certificate in in full force and effect, while in flight. My Broker has not been able to get Chartis to resolve the issue. It looks like my $1,700 didn't buy me anything. PRW
CT4ME Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 Nice catch Philip... I'd better give my Chartis policy a good look  tim
CT4ME Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 'Called Chartis... First, they said not to worry, they were adamant that they would never deny a claim based on a wording error that obviously went against the nature of the policy. But, to fix the wording problem, they indicated your broker just needs to add a "LAD-18" endorsement that has wording to specifically include LSA, Experimental and other aircraft types. I've contacted John Shimer, at A.I.R. and am having him do just that. Thanks Tim
