flyerg1000
Hi all Can anyone tell me where I can get the pin, which is worn and no longer locks the oil inspection door? Many thanks. Niels FD CTLS VH-NKO
Roger Lee
Hi Doug, I don't know anyone that has had to replace one. If FD or Aircraft Spruce doesn't have them then you may need to consider a different style like the cam lock on the cowl (as an example). FD should have them or be able to get them. coppercity
Hi Niels I had to replace one on my LS, FDUSA had them and it just screws on. I did extend the life of my first one with a little dab of JB weld applied to the ball side, let it dry then sand to shape again. This held up for a couple hundred hours. Don't close the door side while the JB is wet!
Doug G.
Niels, mine needs to be replaced also. If I turn it to the right spot it will hold. Let me know what you find out about the replacement part.

Many thanks. Niels FD CTLS VH-NKO Hello Roger Thank you for the reply, Aircraft Spruce say they don't have it. I have put in a request for the pin to Flight Design Germany through the local Agent in Australia. I will give progress reports here. I am hopeful that Flight Design will supply the part with the effiency German Companies are known for. Niels CTLS VH-NKO

I have ordered the pin from Flight Design GMBH Germany through their local Australian "Flight Design Distributor" and I will let everybody know in the loop, including the German Directors, how they perform. Doug G.
Just received this part from FD USA. The part was $5.95, but since they only use UPS the shipping was $15.62 making the total $21.57. It seems like they could have thrown it into a Priority Mail or even just a padded envelope - somebody must live near a postal service drop off. :-\
Roger Lee
Here you go, FD please start using US post priority mail envelopes for small parts instead of UPS. You won't even need to leave the office. Just send it with the days mail. This will save at least 60% - 70% in shipping charges. Thanks
Doug G.
Thank Roger, I sent a similar message to FD.
