josjonkers
1 person died. Can't read the Turkish link but it looks bad from the picture. http://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/wiki.php?id=149339 Let's be careful out there.... sandpiper
Looks like the "egg" was cracked on this one. Usually, if the integrity of the egg remains, the occupants do pretty good. I wonder what the Cessna 170 reference is about in the first link?
Ed Cesnalis
The 170 reference was an attempt to describe the CT. If I read and see the photos correctly it was a training flight at an airport that resulted in contacting a power wire and a subsequent fall onto a short wall. The kind of contact that would challenge the egg.
sandpiper
It also looks like there may have been a fire.
Duane Jefts
In Charlie Tango's first picture, one of the power lines looks a little different like maybe that was the one hit and the second story of the home looks like it was hit as well. I agree with the fire analysis. The second story window is broken and some indication of fire near that and the wing.
Darryl
To the best of my knowledge, this is the first fatality in a CT. Dose anyone know of any others?
Jim
Three others that I know of. One in England, loss of control after flying into a cloud: http://www.aaib.gov....-CFAZ 11-09.pdf One in Italy, pilot exceeding Vne: http://www.recreatio...-accident.2120/ Apparent suicide in Romania: http://airflightdisaster.com/?p=17381
