Roger Lee
Bobby, Back-up battery or not the D100 should come on when the aircraft avionics are powered up. You either have a broken wire or a bad unit that may need to go back to Dynon. Was the unit powered off during an update or any thing done to it that was not just powering up or down? What version of Dynon software do you have loaded?

Roger Lee
Hi Bobby, You probably do need to change the battery, but it should still fire up under ships power.
Doug G.
I have what may be a similar problem. I turn on the primary battery and wait for the EMS to come up. Then, the last two times I have started, the EMS goes blank, and I need to turn off the battery primary at which point it the EMS comes up and stays on. (The EFIS has no problem.) These are D1000s.
