During an annual service, on a 2010 CTLS, it was discovered that the engine mount assembly was out of spec. by 1mm at a lower, bolt hole. The mechanic states thet there is 0 tolerance for this, according to flight design. A replacement engine mount is $4,700 for the part + labor. Is this, customarily covered by, insurance ?

There are many out more than that mounted right from the factory, after a hose change and from hard landings. 1mm is nothing. If it were my plane I would leave it alone.

Thanks for that , I'll communicate that to my mechanic.

Cheers.

Roger,

This is one of those situations where your experience will likely save someone almost $5000.00

The mechanic working on the plane is likely just following the book and not intentionally trying to overcharge.

Even though I am not a CT owner I learn a lot from you. You are a great asset to the CT community and the rest of us also.

Thanks for everything you do.

Mark
