Ed Cesnalis Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 I just saw this on TV. Dave Barlia is a friend and I have to be careful when he flies with me, never know when he's likely to jump out and flap his arms. http://player.vimeo....llowFullScreen>
FastEddieB Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 Just started it and realized its the kind of thing I'd like to enjoy with my wife on the big screen. She'll be back from Knoxville later this afternoon and we'll let you know what we think.
josjonkers Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 They call themselves "Athletes". I would use the word daredevils.
Ed Cesnalis Posted May 19, 2013 Author Report Posted May 19, 2013 They call themselves "Athletes". I would use the word daredevils. No doubt some of both. I've got to see Dave Barlia demonstrate his athleticism here locally doing a number of things. Even on a snowboard Dave demonstrates an uncanny awareness of his body when in free fall and translates this ability into many different disciplines. One reason they are daredevils is that is where the money is, they are funded by Hollywood as stuntmen.
WmInce Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 Courage? The epitome of Courage is the young Marine Corps foot soldier . . fighting in Afghanistan . . and getting shot at. Anything other than that . . is something else.
Ed Cesnalis Posted May 19, 2013 Author Report Posted May 19, 2013 In case you missed it, it was the kid jumping off of the dock that was demonstrating courage. Courage is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty, or intimidation. Courage exists outside of warfare, and can be lacking within warfare.

CT4ME Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 Chill, Bill... it was your comparison... Both Courageous in different ways... Tim
Doug G. Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 A bit off topic here, but some claim anyone in the military is a hero - a) what does that make the soldier that sacrifices themselves to save others in battle, and if everyone is a hero doesn't that mean none of them are? (People say that the guy who discovered blood in his boat in Boston and called 911 was a hero...I guess I have no clue what a hero is...what did they expect him to do??)
FlyingMonkey Posted August 9, 2013 Report Posted August 9, 2013 My life is sooooo boring! Mine too, but I'm mostly okay with that!
