Gmoore7 Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Reading Plane and Pilot today about the Tecnam P2008. The writer stated when the pilot began his run up that he went to 1650 rpm's. can anyone tell me why would Tecnam run up at 1650 and our same Rotax run up at 4000 rpm's? Maybe a mis print?????
Rckol Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 According to a review I found, Tecnam displays prop RPM instead of engine RPM. http://www.australianflying.com.au/news/tecnam-p2008-flight-test-tecnam-goes-composite
sandpiper Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 That would do it. 4000 divided by 2.43 is about 1650. The 2.43 is our gear ratio.
Gmoore7 Posted July 30, 2013 Author Report Posted July 30, 2013 That makes sense. I knew one of you smarter fellows would know the answer. Thanks,
josjonkers Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 I are an inguneer and a pilut 2. Obviously you must be. Engineers never learn how to write!!
paul m Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 According to a review I found, Tecnam displays prop RPM instead of engine RPM. Does the engine sound different because they quote prop RPM instead?
