Adam Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Hey all... I was never a fan of the Garmin SL-40 (display small, memory tagging features not very good). I bought an Icom IC-A210 at Oshkosh in 2012. See the pics. I added the optional MB-114 rear panel adapter plate which makes the radio plug and play with your existing Garmin SL-40 Tray. There is a Fleet LOA that authorizes an Icom IC-A210 in a CT series aircraft. (LOA's posted elsewhere on this forum). I like the Icom IC-A210 because it has a big display that is easy to see. It also has much nicer memory labeling (in my opinion) than the Garmin SL40. I sold my old new plane with the stock Garmin SL40 back in its original slot, My new CTLSi Jubilee I have on order has the new Garmin com with larger display so I will just go with that one when the plane comes in. I have this listed on eBay for $850.00. I will sell it to any forum member for $800 shipped. Price new was $1175 for the radio and $45 for the SL40 tray adapter. Radio has almost 10 months left on the 2 year warranty, I will include the original sales receipt. Radio ships as new with all accessories, mounting tray and the stock rear panel in addition to the SL40 panel. Used for only a few hours in the air. Because I used it plug and play, the accessories bag is unopened. You can email me at aec1964@excite.com
Jim Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Just as a note, I bought an IC-A210 as soon as it came out and installed it in my CTSW. It's a great radio. Very sensitive, 2 frequency simultaneous receive, and a built-in 2 place intercom. I really like mine.
FlyingMonkey Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 What a beautiful display that radio has!
