Fuel filter access

Hi Andy,

You can do that, but it is still a PITA to deal with and work with in that tight area. To me it was a poor choice. at one time they had them upstream of the shutoff valve. Every hose change I do now I move them back there. It is about 2" on the other side of the metal sweeping tube. Now it is right behind the instrument panel on the pilot side. Easy to get to, easy to inspect. Now since it is upstream of the shut off you can't shut it off with the fuel shut off. All you do is use a set of hose pinch pliers just up stream of the filter and removal and inspection is now a piece of cake. Messing with the filter down deep inside and having hose and clamps to try and deal with makes possible leaks too likely. The size of a cutout in the side panel would be so big to gain a decent access it would be a large hole and the piece you cut out won't be large enough to over lap the edges to cover the hole and you'll have to make something up that won't look very nice.

Your choice.
