FlyingMonkey
Is there a particular procedure to drain and flush the coolant from the engine? Any tips or tricks? Where is the drain plug, on the radiator? I'd like to flush and fill with new coolant, I don't know how old the coolant is in me engine.
mocfly
I think the plug is actually on the pump. Great location on the back of the engine.
Roger Lee
Hi Andy, This better not be one of those 9 pagers! The easiest way is to pull the hose off the bottom of the radiator on the right bottom corner. Have a fairly good size pan ready for the coolant once the hose comes off. Then when it stops flowing blow down through the coolant tank on top 4-5 times really hard or use a compressor and help seal the tank opening with a rag. Almost all coolant will be vacated. Don't even worry about the low point drain on the water pump. It isn't needed to do a good job and you can't access it any way. Put the hose back on and re-fill with about 2/3 of a gal of a 50-50 mix. The whole process should take about 15 minutes.

Doug G.
You know, of course, that slow landings decrease air flow through the radiator, not to mention the AoA is all wrong for cooling. So, maybe if you don't do them you won't need to flush the radiator. lol
