Rich
While viewing one of my flight videos tonight I noticed a substantial loss of noise when my camera is mounted on the co-pilot's side of the top panel. When the camera is moved to the pilot's side, same location, the noise increases dramatically. This is in reference to engine noise only. Has anyone experienced this? I'm assuming it has something to do with the prop rotation. Rich

Anticept
Sound noise or video noise? And is this using the built in mic, or via intercom system?
Rich
Built in mike. Go Pro Hero. I just took a look at the built in mike and MAY have found the reason. The Hero has the mike pick-up on the right side as viewed from the back of the camera. When it's mounted on the co-pilot's side, the pick-up is canted 45* away from the engine. On the pilot's side it's canted 45* towards the engine. The difference is very noticable, so I'll be runing video from the co-pilots side as much as possible. Hopefully this may help some folks with the same set-up shoot video's with substantially less engine and prop noise.
Anticept
You can get an audio jack splitter (make sure it's made for go pros so you don't blow it up) and plug into intercom audio. I have one, works great. Wish I could have a soft engine rumble with audio ducking though
