Anticept
Anyone heard of putting them on a CT? I'm curious as to what it would do to the stall speeds. Wing airflow is my weakest area, because it's FM (freakin magic!). The sheer amount of aerodynamic engineering involved is beyond what I work with. procharger
I have 2007 CTSW and a 2007 Challenger II with hks 700 engine, installed VG's on my Challenger does help with slower speeds and lowers stall speeds a few MPH or Knots whichever you like, all research says it helps most airfoils, on a CT who knows. You could try sticking some on with two sided tape and see what happens I would be interested not sure about everyone else????

Are there any dangers to VGs? Things like this, I don't have answers for.
procharger
Go online and you will find out where and how to install them, each wing is different but I put mine on the highest part of the the wing about 4 inches from leading edge and about 2 inches apart all the way across the wing and some on bottom of elevator too. Never saw any real negatives about them.
Anticept
I figure the best place for them would be a little bit forward of the boundary layer separation at critical AoA
Aero-Nut
I know this is an older thread but wondering if anyone has installed VG's yet and what was the outcome. For those that are in the experimental category maybe putting VG's on will allow someone to do the -12 degree flap mod and still remain in the light sport category while maintaining the 45 knot stall speed??? Jacques
http://www.stolspeed.com/ctsw-flight-design You will find a ton of information on VGs on this site and this particular thread is about CTSw with VGs on his wings and stabilator. and also ,on Utube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfyUtT8P87k installation video [on a SW] in french
FlyingMonkey
From my research, I think that vortex generators are "almost" free in their effect. They do lower stall speeds, but with a very slight drag penalty (hence "almost" free). In the real world, most people don't seem to notice much or any decrease in speed from the drag. Anticept
They extend the boundary layer and stabilize some of the turbulence, behind the wing, so it has a payback.
