sandpiper
It's hard to believe it has been almost 3 years since I had to re-register my plane and give the FAA $5.00. I just received my renewal notice from the FAA saying my window to renew is from 12/1 to 2/28 for my expiration date of 4/30. So, this is just a heads up in case someone doesn't get a notice. Time to check your expiration date.
Runtoeat
Hi John. Good head's up. Here's a FAA link which allows one to put in the tail number to find out when the registration expires. http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/aircraft_certification/aircraft_registry/reregistration_faq/
N89WD
It was as easy as pie.

CT4ME
Dang... time flies... not that long until my turn again... stupid FAA, I can see why they wanted to cleanup the aircraft registry, but doing this every 3 years is nothing but busy-work. tim
FastEddieB
OK, I'm confused by that FAQ page. My registration says this: Based on the FAQ, am I good until then? Specifically, this has me confused: I called the Atlanta FSDO and the fellow opined I was OK until 2015. When I do a search by N#, it also says expires 1/31/2015. Still find this confusing. Eddie, that was the schedule to get the whole 3 year registration program started, so everybody didn't try and do them at the same time.
FastEddieB
So, I'm OK? One could read this as... If the aircraft was registered before October 1, 2010 (mine was)... ...and... If the Certificate was issued in March through November of any year (mine was)... ...then "The certificate has expired". Or does the fact that my registration even has an expiration date make all of this moot?
coppercity
Go with the date on your registration. The table was for old planes like my Comanche that had been registered to me before the 3 year requirement. The FAA didn't want to be flooded with requests to renew when the regulation was updated so they set up that table based on the original date of issuance. Since your registration has the date you are already in the 3 year cycle system
Tom Baker
If you have an expiration date then you are good. You must remember that the registration certificates did not have expiration date prior to this new 3 year registratiob cycle. That chart was for those without a expiration date on their certificate. In a couple months the chart will go away and everyone should be on the 3 year cycle.
