FlyingMonkey Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Does anybody besides me think the throttle lever is just too damn long? I almost never put my hand on the top of the lever, I usually grab it under the T-handle (when landing where I need big power changes) or at the base (when in cruise and I'm making subtle power adjustments). The lever is so long it's not a comfortable resting place for my hand, and it makes small adjustments harder because it's such a long lever (mechanically as well as literally). I understand that it's set at its current height to clear the brake lever, but I think the brake lever could be shortened, as well. I'd like to see the throttle lever about half its current length. Have any of the experimental guys done something like this?
Jacques Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 I agree many times...when grabbing the brake lever, ,my shirt sleeve cautch the throttle lever not pleasant when you need brakes and give power instead
procharger Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Cut it off redrill handle remount knobs not sure if that is legal???
N89WD Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Wish there was some kind if handle on the choke as well.....
Tom Baker Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 I made a little cap out of plywood for a customers choke lever. The extra size and thickness made the lever easier to grab and move.
sandpiper Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 I rarely have my hand on top of the throttle lever. Usually just rest my hand on the console and grasp the lever about half way up.
procharger Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 I made one for choke lever out of alum. to look just like the others. looks like factory knob or handle>
