Doug G. Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 I was given this and told it was a cover for a CT. I put it in my hangar and last year took it out and got a couple of straps repaired. Then...wait for it...I tried to put it on the plane. It didn't work! I purchased one that does, but I am still wondering - what is this for?? The guy I got it from has no idea either since it was left in a hangar he rented - not sure why he thought it was for a CT.
Anticept Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 It's a diaper for newly born CTs. It's got holes for the gear legs, and ties right up onto the tail. But seriously, it looks like it's just a front windshield cover. It looks like the holes don't belong, those were cut in. Assume they weren't there, and what I believe you would do is lay the cover so that the curved side forms with the nose, and wrap the strap underneath. The straight side would go over the top and wrap underneath behind the wings. Elastic bands, right?
Doug G. Posted May 21, 2014 Author Report Posted May 21, 2014 No, 1 1/2 inch adjustable webbing straps..
Anticept Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 Not a CT cover then. Got to be a baby CT diaper.
Doug G. Posted May 21, 2014 Author Report Posted May 21, 2014 Yeah, I decided in the process of trying to get it to fit that it was not for a CT. I hoped one of you might have seen something similar elsewhere.
procharger Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 Might be a diaper for a pilot when he pulls the chute, note the two leg holes.LOL
procharger Posted May 21, 2014 Report Posted May 21, 2014 Whoever guesses right wins a new CTLS from Roger
