Ed Cesnalis Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Our mornings are currently clear and calm. By afternoon the buildup is impressive even from space.
Anticept Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 I flew out to denver, and I will attest to how quickly the area changes. Morning was decent, afternoon almost got killed by a mountain wave.
Mick Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Try coastal south Florida in the summer, you can set your watch by when the nice day is replaced by the thunder bumper.
FlyingMonkey Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Yeah, Florida and much of Georgia feel your pain.
WmInce Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 Try coastal south Florida in the summer, you can set your watch by when the nice day is replaced by the thunder bumper. You got that right!
GravityKnight Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 Yea we have been getting hit pretty good in Colorado lately. Tornado warnings... wind suddenly hitting 45-55kts. But the evenings have been hit or miss, quite a few nice ones mixed in around the storms and nasty spring wind. I've made a couple evening (6-8pm) flights after the storms have passed that ended up being great!! Definitely my favorite time of day to fly! And then some evenings the powers out, flood warnings are issued and we are getting wailed on by baseball sized hail... you just never know.
