tennesseect Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 My 2007 CTsw's right aileron has unsightly water damage. Does anyone know who might have a salvageable aileron they would sell me?
Al Downs Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Roger do you know who got the salvage from the CTLS that went down in Texas a little while back? I am still looking for a wheel.
Flying Bozo Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 what kind of wheel are you looking for? I have two of them I took off my CTSW that are tundra 600X6 if you are interested. Larry
Anticept Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Thanks Larry but mine are 4.00 x 6 The important part is the x 6. That's how many inches the wheel rim is. There's a couple other factors, but 4.00 x 6 and 6.00 x 6 tires are interchangeable on the hardware from a physical dimension point of view. If you want the RIM, then you can buy Bozo's. If you are looking for a tire, I would want to know why you are buying on CTFlier EDIT: I should actually clarify before anyone orders anything. The nomenclature should be 6.00 - 6. The 6.00 x 6 nomenclature, as sometimes commonly written, is actually Overall Diameter by Width, which is an important distinguishment for big plane tires.
Flying Bozo Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Al, OK too bad you can't use it. Good luck on finding one
Anticept Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Al, OK too bad you can't use it. Good luck on finding one As my comment above says, he CAN use it, assuming you meant 6.00 - 6, with a dash. He's just using the smaller diameter tires, but the rims are the same size. I assume he is looking for the wheel assembly, not a tire
Flying Bozo Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Well, I have the wheel assembly but I don't know how to tell it is a (dash) in between the numbers or what. Larry
Anticept Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Just measure the rim. Is it ~6 inches across? EDIT: by that I mean the diameter
Philip Welsch Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Aircraft Salvage of Dallas (ASOD) probably took the aircraft. ASOD is in Lancaster just south of Dallas. I replaced the nose wheel on my 2008 LS with a Matco unit. If you are looking for a nose wheel I have one - Italian undamaged. PRW
Flying Bozo Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 OK anticept, I will measure it tomorrow when I get to the hangar. By across you mean the rim diameter not the rim width. Larry
Anticept Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 Yes the diameter. Edited my post to clarify.
Al Downs Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 What I am looking for is a Matco 6 inch wheel. Let me know if that is what it turns out to be.
Flying Bozo Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 Nope mine is the Italian job wheel. Sorry. Larry
Ian Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Nope mine is the Italian job wheel. Sorry. Larry Great film though!!
