Need Help !

The latch mechanism on the oil check door on the cowl, wore out, 0n my 2010 CTLS. Apparently it is back ordered at Lockwood. Does anybody have this part available in the US or elsewhere? I'm thinking I can use high speed tape to keep it shut in flight , but I'm open to any other suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help.

You could wire it shut from the back side.  That would probably be more secure than tape, but you'd have to take the top cowl off to check the oil.  Otherwise bolus tape covering the whole door would work, and you'd probably gain ten knots from drag reduction.

Which side do you need? I have one of the cowling side (ball side) parts.

If i were going to replace it I would put a lock and key latch on it just my 2 cents

You can turn the ball 180 degrees and get by for awhile. I got mine from FDUSA.

By the way, adding a dab of grease once in a while will significantly lengthen the life.
