Anticept
EGTs on ALL aircraft need to be replaced fairly often when compared to other sensors. They are being exposed to extremely high temperatures and carbon rich atmospheres, on top of the swinging air temperatures from throttle settings. Al Downs
In 1300 hrs I have replace 2. Just replaced a CHT sensor last week. Much more expensive than EGT but I found a company that takes them out of brand new engines because they are not needed for their purpose. Saved about $70. Roger Lee
EGT's are funny. Dynon says 200 hrs. and you should feel good. Some people get 5-6 times that amount. You just never know and It can happen at any time. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to swap out.
