BMcCand - N248CT Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Since many maintenance items require RLSM (or A&P) certification, is it useful to take these courses without those licenses ? I did take the Rotax Service course so I can do my own oil changes legally. I know RLSM can be obtained by taking the Rainbow aviation course, or the http://community.brcc.edu/aviation/index.php/light-sport/ course. Has anyone here used BRCC ?

It will give you a good understanding of how everything works on the airplane, so you can explain things to your mechanic. If you get the LSRM some items also require the Flight Design specific training to complete the task. Tom
BMcCand - N248CT Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Thanks, Tom. I guess the course would fix my dyslexic typing of LSRM ! I'm already attentive to maint. issues, and talk to my mechanics and repair station folks. I just had the TruTrak AP installed, and it was a project. Even though it is an option, composite reinforcement was required. It is easier to order the AP from the factory. Oh - I'm also a Whovian. Tom Baker was my favorite doctor.
