Flying Bozo
I think that approach was playing a one up mans ship game with the pilot. When approach directed him to squawk 2345 and he replied he was squawking 2345 approach did not immediately see his transponder for some reason. So then approach directed him to squawk Oscar November which is the phonetic for ON, meaning turn your transponder to ON dummy! Then approach waits for the probable response from the pilot "HUH? say again" and all the controllers at the approach desk have a good laugh....
