Roger Lee
Is the metal rubbing sound coming from the gearbox area or engine case side? Is it in the turbo area? Do a leak down compression check. If you have a cylinder issue like rings or bad wrist pin then it should show up. Is it coming from the back of the engine in the flywheel area? This may be a better question asked on the regular Rotax website under the 914 section. http://www.rotax-owner.com/rotax-forum/index
madoveruav
engine is passing compression checks and all values are normal in groundrun. But something is wrong insside. It seeems sound is comming from engine case itself. are you aware of simlr issues reported with rotax 677XXX series
Roger Lee
I'm not aware of any issues. I take it this is something new? How many hours on the engine? There is more 914 experience on the Rotax forum. No 914's here.
