AZAV8OR
In case you missed it, a Cirrus SR22 went swimming 250 east of Hilo, HI yesterday. The a/c was being ferried and, 3 hours from HI, the pilot found he was unable to switch to an 80gal ferry tank in the back seat. They did a bunch of troubleshooting with their home base, but no joy. He was vectored to land near a cruise ship. Even with that, he was still in the water for 40 minutes. He was damned lucky. This video is shot from a USCG C-130. My cajones are just now descending after watching! http://www.dvidshub.net/video/388574/pilot-safe-after-ditching-253-miles-maui#.VMZ9K4FHaK3
