gbigs
Roger, Have you installed a GNC 255 in a CT with Dynon Skyview? We have a GTR 225 now and want swap it out. Does it require a different antennae? Does it require an ARINC module to talk to the Dynon Skyview? Will the current link to the Garmin 796 work? Roger Lee
Hi Cecil, I'm sorry, but I haven't any experience with the GNC-.255. I don't even know if it has a different antenna.

Thanks anyway Roger, just thought I'd check with you in the open in case others wanted to do this upgrade also.
Roger Lee
My electronics guy at the field could probably do it. He's really sharp and fixes things other electronic's people can't.

We are getting quotes from Lone Mountain and from the guys on Reno-Stead airport. The upgrade will allow the plane to shoot precision and non-precision approaches via ILS and fly vectors between VORs. I sorta regret not getting the radio from the factory but at that time I didn't know what the difference was...
Tom Baker
Anytime you are switching from just a comm radio to a nav-comm you will need an additional antenna for the nav and maybe also the glideslope. It should still be able to talk to the 796 just like your existing comm. I'm not sure what is required to talk to the Dynon. Be aware that installation of the new antennas might require some structural composite work for the mounting.
