They did have to draw the line in the sand someplace and Rotax tends to be conservative. Yes, I agree. At >30% avgas, the engine doesn't arbitrarily start building up lead residue. Wish I could post the spreadsheet, as once that work was done, it's very easy to keep a running total; I just do it as part of my flight logging process. As an example, on this cycle I've had so high a percentage of mogas, I know that I really don't need to sweat it if I have to add avgas to get back home with plenty of fuel.
