Runtoeat Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 Regarding the driverless car scenario discussed in another thread, how about this to "solve" the "inept" pilot problem (Aside from "pilotless" I believe this type of aircraft is coming in some form): http://techcrunch.com/2016/01/06/the-ehang-184-is-a-human-sized-drone-taking-off-at-ces/#.qmsbrfh:1afD
Ed Cesnalis Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 Can it be done without new technology? Doesn't that think have about 100 yard range?
Cluemeister Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 They are saying 23 mile range @ 60 mph.
Ed Cesnalis Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 They are saying 23 mile range @ 60 mph. Maybe they could set up charging stations like Tesla? Could be a handy way to get to the airport? Maybe the FBOs could rent them out for the 'last mile'?
Runtoeat Posted January 18, 2016 Author Report Posted January 18, 2016 Hi Jacques. I don't see any mention of the ability to auto-rotate as can be done with and engine-out in a helicopter. I'm with you on needing the BRS. Interesting that this comes up. I actually was going to post this on the thread where BRS is presently being discussed but figured I wouldn't hijack the thread. http://ctflier.com/index.php?/topic/3578-brs-parachute-news/
