N544CT
Does the Flight design have electric trim for elevators and rudder.
Roger Lee
The CTLSi has electric trim pitch control. Not the rudder.
FlyingMonkey
Personally, I like manual trim better. There is always a limit to the precision you can get from an electric trim switch. You can fine-tune manual trim down to a gnat's hair. I thought only the latest CTLS models have electric trim...do all CTLS have it?
Doug G.
Roger, I think you meant the CTLSi not the CTLS.
gbigs
Correct. The CTLSi has an electric pitch trim toggle on the center console. It is the single most useful tool in the plane other than the autopilot. It allows setting pitch trim in all phases of flight including climb, cruise and landings. I keep the aileron and rudder trim wheels set to neutral. I also never switch the fuel selector to anything other than BOTH.
Scott Lee
I've wondered if it would be possible to replace the trim wheel with a switch since I have an autopilot. I find the trim wheel to be stiff and take too much pressure.

Roger Lee
Sorry. CTLSi it is.
Scott Lee
That can be adjusted. I have an annual coming up late this month, I'll put it on the things to check.

I know you can adjust the tension on the wheel through the hub, and IIRC there is another way to change the tension also through the pulleys. I'm sure Roger knows all the tricks.
