NC Bill
Anybody know the approximate cost today at TBO. I realize one can fly beyond that but assuming at 2,000 hrs without issues what's it cost.

FlyingMonkey
IIRC a new 912ULS is $18.5k and a rebuild is about $12k. If your engine still runs decently, the prevailing wisdom is to sell the old one and get a new one. Ends up being almost a wash if you can sell the old one for $7k or or better. NC Bill
FWIW (and what prompted my curiosity) is that a guy in Land-o-Lakes is selling a new one on Barnstormers in crate asking $16.5k.

That might be a good deal if Rotax will honor the warranty. IIRC the warranty starts at first start up of the engine.
Roger Lee
$16.5K is about what they are new now. The price came down. If the other one has been sitting for more than two years I would buy a new one.
FlyingMonkey
Lower prices, woo hoo!
sandpiper
Lower prices, woo hoo! only because the Euro is down. Rotax isn't doing any favors.
