Something I learned after struggling with the setup.

I have the Trutrak Vision hooked up to be commanded by either the Skyviews or the Garmin 696.

The choice is made on the Skyview PFD using the HSI-SRC button which gives the options the for either HEADING BUG - SKYVIEW - 696 AND THEN FOLLOWS THAT RESPECTIVE COURSE.

In this setup be aware the SKYVIEWS control then the autopilot! The only thing done with the Trutrak is set the altitude to coincide with the altimeter AND press the MODE button to turn the autopilot ON.

All details are contained in the this supplement :

That is different than my Trutrak. The Skyview selects the HSI, but I turn the auto pilot on via a button on the stick and the mode button changes it from the heading on the Truetrak to the GPS/HSI. (696 or Skyview).

Further, when in the "Skyview" AP mode, if you set the Skyview PFD source to either be the nav radio or no source, then the heading bug determines the plane's heading.
