ls6pilot
Couldnt find it on search. What should one use to clean a Neuform prop? Thanks Rich
Anticept
Mild soap and water, or composiclean mix.
sandpiper
I have used Composiclean for 10 years. No matter what you use it helps if you get the bugs off after each flying day.
ct9000
I use an el-cheapo furniture polish. It has no solvents but it does have silicone wax which makes it hard for the bugs and crap to stick. I also use it on the leading edge of the wing for the same reason.
FlyingMonkey
I use Composiclean bucket wash, and every 2-3 times I wash it I hit it with Composiclean Spray Wax. The prop still looks new. As a side note, maybe it's just the bright white color, but my CT seems to collect far more bugs than other airplanes. Is there something folks spray on to the leading edges, prop, cowl, and wheel pants to keep bugs from sticking and making such a mess? Maybe I just need to fly higher than 1000ft AGL... Tom Baker
A trick I have learned from detailing an airplane before flying it to a show, like Oshkosh, is to put a light layer of something like Nufinish on the leading edge surfaces, and don't polish it off. When you get where you are going then polish it of and the bugs come off real easy.

Anticept
Also, if you regularly wash and wax the belly, the wax will displace the stains over time and GREATLY resist new staining. It actually becomes easier to do this the more you keep to a regular schedule!
Roger Lee
I just used Composi Clean spray wax on the prop and leading edge of the wing to clean. Made bug removal easy each time.
