procharger
Is it ok to fly with out BRS while its being repacked??
FlyingMonkey
I thought the answer is no unless your airplane is E-LSA...though I have a dim recollection of a service bulletin or something that might have changed that.
Roger Lee
FD has an LOA that allows flight to and from the servic facility during a repack cycle. Technically you aren't supposed to just go on pleasure cruises. Repack should only take two weeks.
Anticept
You can have it repacked by a local certified round parachute packer if you want, BRS will send them the instructions.
procharger
I read you have to have a new weight and balance done before flight .

Makes sense, 35lb is a lot of weight to remove as a percentage of the CT's gross.
BravoFoxtrot
This is from page 72 of the Owner's Manual: NOTE: Hand-Packed softpacks (currently the Model 600 only) do not necessarily need to be returned to the factory for routine service. They can be inspected and repacked by certified FAA riggers familiar with round emergency parachutes. Instructions are available from BRS. Our CTs do not have the Model 600 installed. Not sure if this is the current advice. My manual is BPS P/N 020002-01 Revision A.
Roger Lee
Most can't repack a BRS 1350 HS. Probably best to send them back to BRS in the US. Plus the 2005 and 2006's are due for rockets. Can't get those at Walmart.
Andy
Damn! There goes my plan to lash up some Estes series F's (model rocket engines)!
