Anticept
Call up a distributor and give them the serial numbers. They will tell you everything. Also, there is an engine data plate near/on the ignition housing that might say something about year of manufacture. There's going to be some other information around the engine as well, such as gearbox and crankcase serials.
FlyingMonkey
I've been trying to talk a friend into buying one for his airplane. When you land on a price let me know and I'll pass it on to him.
procharger
I ended up with the engine, it was bought new in 1994 or 1995 have all books and stuff that came with it, was still in the Rotax box, with that being said, I turned the engine over with wrench finger on spark plug holes, blows finger off compression is great, just wanted to make sure all is good, have oil tank, new regulator and other parts that come with it. I am not sure about any SB AD's that may or may not need addressing since the engine was built. I will entertain any reasonable offers, will consider price so there is wiggle room for any AD that it might need. I will try to find about any . Anyone know of any please respond. I have 2 people interested in the engine already, let me know ASAP I will pay to ship. Man passed away that had it.
Anticept
As soon as you turned the engine, you scraped off the preservation oil. If you need to re-preserve, there's a service instruction for it.

procharger
Looks like fuel pump, oil dipstick, possible stator, may need addressing, I would consider half price of a new engine. I talked to Lockwood about it.
